If you are interested in acquiring my services as a translator please be advised that I like to oversee a project from start to end. This includes copy-editing (if needed, but I can say that most translation projects require copy-editing because the main goal is to create a polished text in the target-language) and proofreading. If you are already working with an editor, I would prefer to collaborate with them on your project to ensure the delivery of a high-quality final copy. On the other hand, if you wish to employ my services as both translator and editor I would be happy to oblige. In such cases, I would hire an experienced external reader who is a native speaker of the target language. This way you can rest assured that the final copy you will be paying for has been double-checked.
Once I receive your complete and final text in Turkish or English, I will read it with care and guide you through my working practices before sending you a no obligation quote. If all is agreed, this will be followed by a copyright agreement. My work will commence once the copyright agreement is signed by both parties and 20% of the commission is paid. At this point, it is crucial that you submit your final copy. Any changes made after this point will incur additional charges. Fact-checking is included in the price of all non-fiction translation projects.
Translations can take between a week and six months (or in some rare cases up to a year) depending on the complexity of the project. Deadlines are mutually agreed at the start of every project.
Please note that, as standard practice, I use UK English in all translations.
